1982 Triumph Acclaim in today for a service. It's an auto and in pretty good condition. I can't imagine that there are many more autos in the UK still on the road. One of the front wings has started to go so I pointed the owner in the direction of Rimmer Brothers Ltd. He was subsequently overjoyed when he managed to pick up two brand new, old stock front wings for £15 each.
Today we have had an AC Cobra replica in for some problem solving. The car is running with a Ford Cologne 2.8 V6 engine and has some hot start issues. Fortunately it was the auxiliary air valve that was causing the problem and after freeing up and lubricating, the car started wonderfully both hot and cold. Unusual to see one in red and the fit and finish of this car is very good. We hope to see it again when it is due a service.
Jensen GT in for a service and new cam cover gasket. A previous botched repair must have used a full tube of silicon to try and stop an oil leak. A proper rubber gasket is now fitted and (surprise), it doesn't leak anymore
Self confessed car nut with a liking for the unusual.
